AVIATION FUEL(JP-4)
Jp 4 is 50 – 50 kerosene gasoline blend. It has a lower flash point than Jp- 1. But preferred because of its greater availability. JP-4 is a mixture of aliphatic and aromatics hydrocarbons. It is a flammable transparent liquid with straw or clear colour and smells like kerosene. It evaporates easily and floats on water. Low flash point 0°F, -18°C and frozen at -76°F, -60°C. Max burning temperature is 6670°F, 3688C°.
